Eddie the Eagle – Interview with Action Unit Director Vic Armstrong

My screening of Eddie the Eagle was followed by an engaging interview with veteran stunt co-ordinator, and Eddie the Eagle Action Unit Director, Vic Armstrong (Raiders of the Lost Ark & Superman: The Movie).

Vic Armstrong on Taron Egerton, the stunt team, making the set pieces feel fresh & creativity in stunt work:

The full 17-minute conversation:

I don’t entirely agree with everything Armstrong says in this interview. The CGI joins he talks about from 7:15 are far more obvious than he thinks and that Hugh Jackman jump is pretty tacky, but hearing his stance on film vs digital at 15:40 is interesting. Seeing a filmmaker approaching half a century in the business still so driven to create should put a smile on all our faces.

Eddie the Eagle is out now in UK cinemas and you can read my ★★★ review here.
